Civic Engagement and Service-Learning (CESL)

Support Community Engagement!

Civic Engagement and Service-Learning (CESL) offers courses and programs that engage with communities in collective learning and work for a more just world.

This semester, students in CESL programs—including The Boltwood Project, Community Scholars Program (CSP), IMPACT, Mentoring with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Civic Engagement and Public Service Certificate—are partnering with communities to:

Co-create a program to strengthen maternal health with black women in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Build a database and digital story map of land decommodification projects to support these efforts locally and nationally.
Improve IEP advocacy for students in foster care with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

These are just a few examples of CESL students’ commitment to join with others to build just communities.

Your gift of any size is needed to support student transportation to local community partners in addition to community-engaged projects and summer internships. It makes a big difference!
