Partnership for Worker Education

Since the spring of 2018, the Building Bridges Public Art and Engagement Initiative has sought to draw on the power of solidarity and creative expression to bring people together and create a bridge across difference. One of our core Building Bridges projects -called Our Immigrant Voices - brings together employees to explore their immigrant identities with a goal of elevating the voice and visibility of their experiences on campus and beyond.

For the first time, Partnership for Worker Education is launching a digital storytelling project that will further elevate these stories and provide participants with valuable digital skills. Help us amplify the voices of our campus' unsung heroes!

In collaboration with Dr. Aline Gubrium and the UMass HEART initiative, our digital storytelling project aims to empower campus workers, by providing them with the tools and platform to share their stories. Through this initiative, we seek to foster understanding, build community, and highlight the invaluable contributions these individuals make every day. By sharing their unique experiences and perspectives, especially those shaped by their immigrant identities, we can celebrate our rich diversity while cultivating empathy and understanding.

Your support and donation during this year’s UMass Gives will enable us to offer workshops and classes, provide necessary digital tools and resources, and create a safe space for these stories to be told and heard. Furthermore, your donation will be matched up to $5,000. Join us in this important opportunity to make a difference! Learn more about our work at www.umass.edu/worker-ed
