McCORMACK INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT FUND

Our program is only as strong as its connections to industry. Throughout our 50-year history, engagement with industry has been baked into our DNA. From in-class experiential learning projects and conference attendance to our annual offering of distinguished guest speakers and a dedicated internship director, the more we can do to enable our students to engage with industry, the stronger our students and the stronger our program. This fund was created through a generous gift from the D’Angelo brothers (owners of 47 Brand) and one of the first tangible uses was our ability to move the McCormack Sport Leaders Forum—one of our department’s pillar events—to New York City in 2019. The fund supports and sustains a wide variety of student-oriented activities and initiatives, such as support of professional development programming and advertising and promotional partnerships with national media companies—all designed to enhance our engagement and reputation within the sport and entertainment industry. Your gift to the McCormack Industry Engagement Fund will support:

  • Student participation in a variety of undergraduate and graduate-level national
case study competitions, including those hosted by the National Sports Forum,
Sport Marketing Association, and MIT Sloan
  • Immersive professional development trips for groups of graduate and
undergraduate students to major sports markets (from New York City to Los
Angeles) as well as to international markets and events
  • Alumni networking events around major industry conferences (NACDA, Baseball
Winter Meetings) and marquee events (All-Star games)
