McCORMACK DIVERSITY FUND

No sport management program in the country boasts a more esteemed faculty when it comes to research and industry consulting in the area of diversity, equity, and inclusion. As we “talk the talk,” it’s critical that we also “walk the walk.” Through the generosity of the D’Angelo brothers (owners of '47 Brand), the McCormack Diversity Fund was created and supports a number of initiatives designed to make our sport management program a more diverse, welcoming, and inclusive place for our students, faculty, and staff. Your gift to this fund will help move us closer to realizing our goal of being recognized across academia and industry as the leader in diversity, equity and inclusion. In addition to financially enabling us to compete with private institutions to attract exceptional women and students of color, as well as creating scholarships to support summer internships and numerous educational opportunities for students from underrepresented and underserved communities, your gift to the McCormack Diversity Fund will also support:

  • Research and industry consulting initiatives of our department’s Laboratory
for Inclusion and Diversity in Sports (LIDS), our on-campus lab created
and managed by Professors Nefertiti Walker and Nicole Melton
  • Partnerships with Women in Sports & Events (WISE) and Sport
and Entertainment Equity Network (SEEN) that awards fully funded MS and
MBA/MS packages to women and graduate students of color
  • On-campus programming that furthers our department’s diversity, equity,
        and inclusion goals
