Once again, our class will join in the university tradition of giving a class gift as part of our 50th Reunion celebration.
As part of our reunion, our primary goal is to raise $175,000 for the naming rights of the main lobby of Old Chapel (which has been newly renovated) to honor and memorialize Dr. George Richason, Jr. '37, '39MS, '91HON Chemistry Professor Emeritus who carried the University Mace (our graduation class gift) at Commencement each spring for decades. If we succeed in our goal, a plaque will be prominently displayed in the lobby recognizing our class for our efforts and memorializing Dr. Richason.*
We are also be activating the Legacy Campaigns of our 25th and 30th Reunions, honoring Dean William Field '89 Hon, Dean Helen Curtis, Mr. Robert Doolan, Coach Robert Garber '90 Hon, and Fr. Joseph Quigley '91 Hon.
- Gifts honoring Fr. Quigley can be made to the Newman Club and will be used by this group for humanitarian efforts in his honor.
- Gifts honoring Coach Garber can be made to the Laxbacker Fund (UMass Lacrosse).
- Gifts honoring Dean Field, Dean Curtis, and Mr. Doolan can be made to the Old Chapel lobby renovation fund.
If you would like to make a gift on behalf of our reunion, but would like to support something other than Old Chapel or the Legends Campaigns, you can make a gift to any area of campus and still be counted in our reunion giving totals. Simply select the "Other" option on the giving form and write in the gift designation of your choice. Regardless of the designation you choose, any gift can be made in honor or in memory of whomever you desire.
I hope you will join us in showing our pride for UMass and making a gift in support of our 50th reunion and we hope to see you at our reunion in June!

* If we do not reach our $175,000 goal, or if we exceed our goal and have additional funds, we will use these funds to identify archived university plaques that are currently in storage that we believe should be catalogued and/or refurbished and put back on display on campus and support development of a digital library of historical honors and tributes.
If you haven't already, be sure to check out our 50th reunion website so that you can reconnect with classmates and stay abreast of our reunion plans.
If you have any questions about making a gift, please email Nathan Adams '06 Executive Director of Annual Giving at: 'email@example.com'
